Dr. Ron Boykins was commissioned as an Army Officer after graduating from North Carolina State University in 1981. During his eight years of service Dr. Boykins served as an Assistant Professor for 3 years at the University of Arizona. After receiving his Doctorate from the University of Arizona, Dr. Boykins came to Atlanta to begin his creative work with students. His first three years were as Headmaster of the Greenforest Christian Academy. During his tour at Greenforest, the school was named the National Institute of Independent Education School of the year for the outstanding work of their educational team.

Dr. Boykins also served at Tri-Cities High School in Fulton County as an administrator and at the Space Theme School at Pitts Elementary School in Atlanta Public Schools. For the next eleven years, Dr. Boykins served as Principal of E.W. Oliver Elementary School in Clayton County. When he took over the leadership of Oliver, the school was ranked 17th in the county. After a few short years, the school ranking improved to #1 in the county. Dr. Boykins took over the leadership as superintendent of a charter district in New York that had been identified as an “academic failure” and was identified for closure by the New York Department of Education. After two years, this district was declared an “academic success” and renewed for another five years by the Department of Education. Academic gains in reading and math rose over 250% in several grades. Dr. Boykins is currently working as a National Math Consultant with a company he created to impact math achievement across the country. Thousands of students across 11 states have participated in his motivational math events.
Dr. Boykins believes that it takes creativity, innovation, and strategy to reach children today. He also believes that we have to entertain and engage, so that we may equip our children to compete academically. Highly effective educators must be facilitators of the learning. Dr. Boykins is a spokesperson for math and science achievement and has developed strong programs and activities as well as speaking to other educators throughout the country to benefit our youth.
